How do I get to St Barts?
Most travelers fly into St Maarten (SXM), then take a 15-minute connecting flight to St Barts. From St Maarten, a ferry is also an option, with a crossing of about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the departure port and sea conditions. Alternatively, Tradewind Aviation operates flights from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Our concierge team is happy to help you plan the best route.
Do I need to rent a car in St Barts?
Yes, in most cases it is the best option. St Barts has no public transportation and taxis usually need to be booked well in advance; a car gives you the freedom to explore the island, its beaches and its restaurants. When is the best time to visit St Barts?
The weather is warm and sunny year-round in St Barts. High season runs from mid-December through April; the rest of the year, the island is quieter and rates are gentler. Only one period is worth avoiding: the peak of hurricane season, from September to mid-October, both for the storm risk and because most hotels, restaurants and boutiques close during those weeks.
